FAQs

What does altM do?

altM is a B2B material research and manufacturing company, in the business of developing scalable bio-chemicals and biomaterials. We help industries reduce their carbon footprint by upgrading agricultural residues into sustainable substitutes for materials used in various sectors like beauty and personal care, pharmaceuticals, textiles, construction, and packaging.

What industries does altM serve?

Presently, we serve a wide range of industries, including beauty and personal care, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceuticals, textiles, construction, industrial chemicals, and packaging. Our biomaterials and bio-chemicals help companies in these sectors build low-carbon footprint product lines.

What is altMorph?

altMorph is altM’s proprietary biorefinery technology. It transforms lignocellulosic agricultural residues, such as rice straw and sugarcane bagasse, into valuable bio-chemicals and biomaterials through a three-step process of Biomass Pretreatment, Thermochemical Deconstruction and Catalytic Upgradation.

What types of biomass does altM use?

We work with diverse biomass sources, including agricultural residues (like sugarcane bagasse, rice straw, and wheat straw), organic residues (grasses, animal manure), and industrial waste (such as tea leaf and brewery waste).

How is altM contributing to sustainability?

altM helps industries transition to more sustainable materials by converting underutilized agricultural waste into valuable bio-products, reducing dependency on petrochemicals and lowering carbon emissions across the value chain.

What makes altM’s technology unique?

Our technology stands out because of its precision deconstruction process that delivers high yields and manufacturing efficiency. We also offer feedstock-agnostic solutions, allowing flexibility in the types of biomass we process while stabilizing the supply chain for our clients.

What is altM’s approach to innovation?

At altM, innovation is driven by our in-house R&D and engineering teams, blending deep expertise in biomass processing and materials science with advanced engineering solutions. Our unique capability to scale seamlessly from gram to ton levels, all under one roof, enables us to continuously develop and deliver new, sustainable materials tailored to various industries.
